A great man, Dr. Alan Slack, has passed.

The death of this wonderful, kind and caring friend and veterinarian was a shock to all who knew and loved him, and his loss will be felt for a long time.

Dr. Slack was always there for us, day or night, when our pets needed him. Over the 20-plus years, he was our vet, he also became our special friend.

Words can never express all the gratitude we owed him through the years, his gentle manner with our pets, his shoulder to cry on when one of the dogs had to pass at his gentle and loving hands.

His wonderful son, Wade, died in Afghanistan in May 2010. He left us far too young, but left his mark on the world through all the family and friends he leaves behind.

Alan’s work is done here. I’m sure he and Wade are now in each other’s arms once again. Our deepest sympathy goes out to his family, friends and staff.
