My solution to the gridlock in Washington, D.C:

As soon as the government shuts down, all salaries to senators and representatives shall cease to be paid pending passage of the budget bill.

Their staffs will be required to leave their offices until a budget bill is passed.

No senator or congress person will be allowed a television interview until the budget bill is passed.

No lobbyist may enter the Capitol building or adjoining office buildings until the bill is passed.

I believe these suggestions would lead to a sudden desire for compromise and we the people’s interests might be taken into consideration.
