MADISON — Lyndsay Weese had eight points and nine rebounds as the Madison girls basketball team beat Mountain Valley 47-42 in a Mountain Valley Conference game Thursday night.

Kirsten Wood had 10 points and Sam Bruce added eight for Madison, (4-0).

Chrissy Briggs had 18 points and Ayla Allen 15 for Mountain Valley, which falls to 4-1.

Mt. Abram 33, Monmouth 31: The Roadrunners jumped out to an early lead and held on, despite scoring just two points in the third quarter, to win an MVC game in Salem Township.

Miranda Smith had 11 points for Mt. Abram (2-2), while Mikayla Luce added nine.

Kylie Kemp and Molly Menice each scored eight points for Monmouth (2-3).

Gardiner 40, Waterville 30: Jenna Moore hit a 3-pointer with 1:48 left in the fourth quarter to stretch the Tigers’ lead to seven in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B win over the Panthers in Waterville.

Moore’s 3-pointer was the only three in the game by either team. She finished with seven points. Kelly Macomber led the Tigers (5-0) with 10 points.

Ashleigh Gagne had 10 points and 11 rebounds for Waterville (2-3). Lauren Crane added eight points and nine rebounds.

Nokomis 81, Oak Hill 31: Anna Mackenzie scored a game-high 22 points to lead the Warriors to the KVAC B win in Newport.

Marissa Shaw (17 points) and Taylor Shaw (11) were also in double figures for Nokomis (4-0).

Darby Beaulieu scored eight points to lead Oak Hill (0-5) while Kayla Veilleux and Meagan Crosby scored seven apiece.

Mt. Blue 38, Oxford Hills 34: Gabby Foy scored 13 points, including nine in a big third quarter, to lead the Cougars to the KVAC A win in South Paris.

Miranda Nicely added 12 points for Mt. Blue (2-3).

Alex Rowe scored 12 points to lead the Vikings (2-3).

Messalonskee 61, Hampden 53: Mary Badeen led three players in double figures with 22 points as the Eagles held off the Broncos in Hampden.

Megan Pelletier scored 17 points and Mikayla Turner chipped in with 10 for Messalonskee (5-0).

Hampden (2-3) also had three players score in double figures: Jordan Maxwell with 17, Alex Winchester with 15, and Ashley Danforth with 12.

Skowhegan 60, Lawrence 30: Thirteen different players scored for the Indians as they defeated the Bulldogs in Skowhegan.

Cheyenne Malloy (10 points) and Amanda Johnson (nine) each hit three 3-pointers for Skowhegan, which improved to 4-1.

Danielle Spaulding led Lawrence (1-4) with nine points.

Valley 17, Islesboro 16: Neither team scored more than six points in any quarter as the Cavaliers edged the Eagles in Islesboro.

Valley’s Sydney Vincent had a game-high seven points and made a 3-pointer with 1:50 left in the game for the final points of the night. The Cavaliers (1-4) won despite shooting seven for 55 from the field and making only one free throw.

Autumn Johnson had six points for Islesboro (2-3).

Cony 72, Erskine 37: Mia Diplock had 18 points and four assists to pace the Rams to the KVAC A win in Augusta.

Josie Lee added 15 points, 10 rebounds and five assists for Cony (5-0) while Melanie Guzman had 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Erskine (1-4) was led by Meryl Bond with 13 points.

Maranacook 50, Maine Central Institute 28: Hannah Clough’s 16 points paced the Black Bears past the Huskies in Readfield.

Hannah Cumler added 10 points for Maranacook (3-2), which led 29-10 at halftime.

Kylee Alton had nine points for MCI (1-4).
