WATERVILLE — Community volunteers and business people recently gathered at the Waterville Elks Club to celebrate United Way of Mid-Maine’s 2011 fundraising campaign.

Jane Bolduc, campaign co-chairwoman, announced that more than $21,000 was raised at a croquet tournament.

Lori Finney, an employee of Redington-Fairview General Hospital, won the grand prize incentive gift which is a seven-day Caribbean cruise sponsored by Bangor Savings Bank.

Sappi Fine Paper was awarded the George R. Keller Award. This award is presented each year to a company that has provided outstanding leadership in an in-house campaign.

Employee pledges and corporate gifts have raised $101,000.

For the second year in a row, Alcom Inc. was given the Diamond Club Award. This award is given to a company that has demonstrated extraordinary commitment and contribution to United Way of Mid-Maine.
