WATERVILLE — The 26th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day community breakfast will take place from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Monday at the Muskie Center on Gold Street. The public is invited. Rev. Arlene Tully, of the Pleasant Street United Methodist Church, will speak on “Reclaiming the Power of Love.”

Tickets cost $6 for adults and $3 for children 12 and younger. Tickets can be purchased by calling 873-4745 or from Waterville Rotary Club members.

An African drumming ensemble, from Colby College, led by Togolese master drummer Jordan Benissan will perform and students from the George Mitchell School will share their dreams. Rev. Butch Merritt will offer an invocation and Rabbi Rachel Isaacs a benediction.

The event is co-sponsored by Spectrum Generations and Waterville Rotary, with Rotary President Don Plourde as master of ceremonies.

In the event of a storm, notice of cancellation will be broadcast on local radio stations Monday morning.
