Extension homemakers has announced their February programs. The group is partners with the University of Maine Cooperative Extension and meetings are open to the public. The program extends adult education into home and community in the areas of food safety, nutrition and health, gardening, cultural and creative arts, financial planning and going green. Community service projects include Nourishing Our Neighbors, which donates to food cupboards, families in need and animal shelters. Another project is Honoring Those Who Serve.

The following February programs are scheduled:

* Northwest Parks: National Parks of the Northwest U.S. Introduction to the great adventures available in Northwest, Thursday, Feb. 16, in Embden.

* Maine Birds will be the topic Thursday, Feb. 16, in Madison.

* Northwest Parks is the subject Thursday, Feb. 9, in Solon.

* Valentine/auction meeting is set for Tuesday, Feb. 14, in Norridgewock.

* Stones is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 14, in Ripley.
