This has been a difficult winter for local ice hockey players. With no ice arena to call home ice, local players have had to rely on other arenas to provide them with a place to play.

To add insult to injury, the newspaper has not published the scores of some recent Gardiner High School hockey games.

These players deserve better than this. Many of these players are seniors, and their last year of high school hockey unfortunately has been marred by the lack of a home arena to celebrate their last home game at, and now the newspaper ignores them.

Is it too much to ask a local newspaper to give these players a little write up in the sports section? I think not! C’mon, give these players something with which to remember their high school hockey days.
