SKOWHEGAN — The Skowhegan History House Museum & Research Center board of trustees recently appointed Reg Strout as volunteer coordinator. Strout served as a volunteer at the museum and research center last season and has since become a trustee. He has background in education and enjoys working with people, local history and promotional activities.

Strout will continue to build and expand the volunteer team and assist in promoting the work and goals of the program.

Volunteer opportunities at the Skowhegan History House include: cataloging artifacts and other historic materials; designing and creating displays; maintaining and cleaning the museum and research center; assisting with clerical tasks; assist the History House gardener in the Heirloom Gardens and with landscaping; assisting the curator with tour groups; researching and writing articles for publication; and teaching children about local history and historic preservation.
