AUGUSTA — The Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the owner of a stolen ring recovered during an investigation of several recent burglaries.

The silver band features three large diamonds across the top surrounded by five stones inlaid around it, according to Detective Dave Bucknam. The ring was recovered from a burglary that occurred in the late fall in the Hallowell-Farmingdale area, Bucknam said.

Police said that John Grotton, 25, of Augusta is being held in connection with more than 50 burglaries that occurred in Lincoln, Kennebec and Somerset counties.

Detective Sgt. Frank Hatch said the owner of the ring will be able to describe additional unique features by contacting Bucknam at 623-3614, ext. 312.
