Why have State Treasurer Bruce Poliquin and those he consults with ganged up on Dale McCormick, chairwoman of the Maine State Housing Authority?

I have noticed the tone of righteous indignation that imbues statements about MSHA and about McCormick, herself a former state treasurer and elected state senator.

McCormick’s professional record speaks for her personal integrity, and for her sound judgment. I raise the specter of witch hunt rather than concern for the electorate that characterizes the approach of Poliquin in the role of grand inquisitor.

The MSHA was deliberately set up to be separate from the political controls of any administration. I have to wonder whether the attacks on McCormick and the MSHA are more personal than professional. Further, I have to wonder what those attacks might really be based on.
