PITTSFIELD — Jerry Chen hit a layup with 1 second left and Zach Fortin made a steal to clinch the victory as the Maine Central Insitute boys basketball team beat Camden Hills 50-48 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B game Thursday.

“The boys played extremely hard,” said MCI coach Mike Susi, who also stated this was just the team’s second ever win against Camden Hills. “They never stopped believing in themselves all season, and this was a good way to end.”

Trey Vintinner had 19 points for MCI (3-15). Adam Ogden added 10 points, 10 rebounds, six steals and five assists, including the pass to Chen for the game-winning shot.

Winslow 76, Oak Hill 42: Justin Murray scored 13 points and Caleb Hill added 12 to lead host Winslow in a Class B game. Murray also had 12 assists and five rebounds. Cody Morrison and Austin Ireland each added eight points to lead Winslow (12-6) as well. Ireland contributed with nine rebounds as well.

Sam Morin scored a game-high 15 points to pace Oak Hill (0-18).

Winthrop 38, Madison 28: Taylor Morang scored eight points — all from thje foul line — and Hunter Kilgore added seven to lead the host Ramblers in a Western C game. Matt Sekerak and Dan Miles each chipped in with five points for Winthrop (3-15).

Austin Kane scored eight points to pace Madison (10-8).

Nokomis 65, Belfast 57: Ethan Pearl had 27 points as the Warriors beat the Lions in a KVAC B game in Belfast.

Andrew Cartwright added 11 points for Nokomis (13-5).

Jamie Jackson had 19 points, Tyler Prescott 16 and Scott Kulikowski 10 for Belfast (1-17).
