AUGUSTA — The Maine State Museum, 230 State St., will offer a number of family activities during February school vacation week.

* The programs Mammals Large and Small will take place at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and Formation of Rocks and Minerals at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Feb. 21, Feb. 23 and Feb. 24.

* Curator’s Corner will take place from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 22. Participants are welcome to bring in natural science specimens for identification. This program will be led by Dr. David Work, curator of geology, and Dr. Paula Work, curator of zoology.

* The Art of Illustration: A Reading and Workshop, with Maine illustrator Rebekah Raye, will begin at 11 a.m. Feb. 25. Raye will present an art workshop and a book reading and signing. Admission will be free all day. Snow date is March 3.

Admission costs $2 for adults, $1 for adults older than 62 and children age 6-18, free for children younger than 6 free, and a maximum charge of $6 for families. Credit and debit cards are not accepted.
