AUGUSTA — Harry Baker-Connick scored 16 points to lead Waynflete past Wiscasset 59-48 in a Western Class C boys quarterfinal game Monday at the Augusta Civic Center.
Serge Nyirikamba added 13 points for Waynflete (14-4) while Paul Runyambo chipped in with 11. The Flyers play No. 6 Old Orchard Beach at 7 p.m. Thursday.
Jordan Jones scored a game-high 17 points to lead Wiscasset, which ends its season at 12-8. Devin Grover added 13 points while Jason Weatherbee had 10.
No. 6 Old Orchard Beach 78, No. 3 Boothbay 48: Quincy Grace and Joe Gildard each scored 15 points to lead the Seagulls in a Western C quarterfinal.
Andrew Fleury scored 14 points for Old Orchard Beach (12-7), which led 37-22 at the half and never looked back.
Anthony DeMaruo scored a game-high 18 points and Ben Dickson added 11 to pace the Seahawks (12-7).
Western D girls
No. 6 Vinalhaven 52, No. 3 Greenville 39: Eliza Drury scored 18 points as the Vikings beat the Lakers to advance to the Western D semifinals.
Alex Slivinsky added 12 points for Vinalhaven, which improves to 11-8 and advances to play No. 2 Rangeley in the semifinals Thursday.
Eliza Davison also had 11 for Vinalhaven.
Miranda Drinkwater had 12 points for Greenville (12-7), which managed just 12 points in the first half.
