NEWPORT — A scholarship award of $1,000 will be presented to a graduating senior who resides in one of the 12 towns of the Sebasticook Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Applications are sought from seniors who reside in Corinna, Detroit, Dexter, Etna, Exeter, Hartland, Newport, Palmyra, Pittsfield, Plymouth, St. Albans or Stetson.

Information was distributed to the guidance departments at Nokomis Regional High, Dexter Regional High School, Maine Central Institute, Central High School and Bangor Christian School. Applications are available at ourchamber.org

To be considered for this award, completed applications should be returned by March 30, preferably by email. The email subject line should read: scholarship-application and name. Electronic applications are preferred but not required.

The award will be presented at the graduation ceremony of the winning applicant and will be paid upon the successful completion of the first semester with a grade-point average of at least 2.0.
