CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — New York Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin has a frozen yogurt flavor.
Vermont-based Ben & Jerry’s ice cream is selling “Taste the Lin-Sanity” at its Harvard Square shop, near Lin’s alma mater, Harvard University.
Ryan Midden, the company’s manager for Boston and Cambridge, told The Boston Globe on Friday the promotion includes an in-store basketball hoop where customers can try to win a $1 discount. It’s continuing through Harvard’s basketball season with some proceeds going to charity.
The vanilla concoction comes with lychee honey swirls and a fresh waffle cookie.
The company is known for celebrity flavors.
Lin, a 6-foot-3 point guard, has had a statistically historic start to his basketball career since the New York Knicks pushed him off the edge of the bench and onto the court.
He scored more points in his first five starts than any player in NBA history, and helped turn around the underperforming Knicks.
