AUGUSTA — St. Michael Parish of Augusta will hold a Lenten parish mission — The Great Invitation: Come and YOU Will See — from March 12 to 14 at St. Augustine Church.

The retreat will be led by the Rev. Rusty Shaughnessy of the San Damiano Retreat Center in Danville, Calif.

Daily sessions will begin with Mass at 7:30 a.m. followed by a coffee break, and retreat talk from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Evening sessions will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday; at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday followed by a penance service with priests providing the Sacrament of Reconciliation; and a closing Mass at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, followed by a reception in the church hall.

Broad Bay Church offers services

WALDOBORO — Broad Bay Church, 942 Main St., will offer a meditative service on Sunday and a book discussion group beginning on Monday.

Sunday’s service will begin at 10 a.m., featuring harpist Suki Flanagan and organist Carroll Smith for a quiet and meditative service of worship. The Rev. Nancy Duncan will present a sermon, “The Silence of Rainbows.”

The book group will discuss “Falling Upward: A Spirituality for the Two Halves of Life” by Richard Rohr. Participants will by led by the Rev. Nancy Duncan. Sessions will be offered at 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. every Monday for five weeks.
