BOSTON — Joey Diamond had two goals and two assists as the University of Maine men’s hockey team beat Northeastern 7-1 in a Hockey East game Saturday night.

Spencer Abbott added two goals and an assist for the Black Bears, who improve to 19-11-3, 14-10-2 in Hockey East play. Northeastern falls to 12-15-5, 8-12-4 in the conference.

The Black Bears took a 3-1 lead in the first period on goals by Adam Shemansky, Theo Anderson and Mark Anthoine. Diamond and Spencer Abbott added to the lead in the second period, while Abbott and Diamond each scored in the third.

Jake Rutt had an assist for the Black Bears.
