TOWNSHIP 11, RANGE 10 — Officials say four snowmobilers are safe and sound after getting stranded in remote areas of northern Maine.

Wardens rescued three men Monday night after one of their machines had mechanical troubles and two others got stuck in four feet of snow while riding on unplowed logging roads in Township 11, Range 12 in Aroostook County. The men – 41-year-old Craig Lemieux of Parkman, 31-year-old Chad Jones of North Yarmouth, and 22-year-old Tobey Cleaves of Sangerville – were attempting to ride nearly 300 miles from Guilford to Fort Kent in a single day.

In a separate incident in the Chesuncook Lake area, wardens say 51-year-old Irving “Vance” Wright of Brunswick was found about 7 a.m. today after he was reported missing Monday from a camp where he was staying with friends.
