SKOWHEGAN — A 20-year-old Cornville man was arrested Wednesday morning after allegedly firing a single shot from a .22-caliber rifle through a car’s windshield while the driver was still inside.
Alan W. Sipe was taken into custody following the incident around 11:15 a.m. at 359 East River Road. The alleged victim, Tara Harrington, was injured in an alleged assault by Sipe, but not from the gunshot, Skowhegan Police Chief said Michael Emmons said.
The call originally came in as a domestic dispute. Emmons said Harrington told police she was pushed down a flight of stairs. She was taken to Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan to be checked over.
Emmons said the initial charge against Sipe is reckless conduct with a firearm, a Class B felony, punishable by up to five years in prison. Additional charges could follow.
