SKOWHEGAN — A Skowhegan man was lifeflighted to a Bangor hospital with multiple stab wounds this morning  and another man is in custody after an altercation at Indian Ridge Apartments.
In custody is Nathaniel Todd Knight, 31, of Skowhegan. He is charged with elevated aggravated assault and trafficking in prison contraband, according to jail records.
Skowhegan Police Chief Michael Emmons said the victim is 34-year-old Jason Tibbetts. Tibbetts was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor in serious condition.
The call came in to police just before 3 a.m. Several police officers and Skowhegan’s two detectives responded to the scene, as did Skowhegan Fire Department and emergency medical crews from Redington Fairview General Hospital.
A Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit truck is on the scene collecting evidence for Skowhegan police.
