CRANSTON, R.I. — A New England-wide lottery in which winners get $1,000 a day for life is scheduled to hold its first drawing.

The Lucky for Life game is holding the drawing tonight at 10:38 p.m.

Players pick five numbers from a field of 40 and a Lucky Ball number from a field of 21. The prize for matching all six numbers is $1,000 a day for life. It’s guaranteed for at least 20 years.

Tickets cost $2 and are on sale in Rhode Island, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont.

Drawings will be held in Connecticut on Mondays and Thursdays.

Rhode Island has been on a recent lottery winning streak. Powerball tickets worth $336.4 million and $60 million were purchased in the state.
