I would like to remind voters of Somerville to vote on Friday and to attend the town meeting on Saturday.
This time there is no contest for first selectman, so no problem there.
My problem is why someone is running against our second selectwoman, Martha Staples. Staples is a staple in our town, no pun intended. She has and is serving in many roles for our town including, the the Somerville Volunteer Fire Department.
Most of you know her on voting day checking you off to vote, and when a 911 call comes in, you can be sure Staples is on her way day or night, rain or snow, unless sometimes when her road is just impossible to travel.
I support Staples for a new term as second selectwoman and would urge all Somerville voters to keep this dedicated woman in office.
