WATERVILLE — Messalonskee High School graduate Chris Farrar pitched a complete game in Game 1 and James McLamb matched him in Game 2 as the Thomas College baseball team earned a doubleheader sweep of Husson 7-1 and 2-1 on Tuesday.

In Game 1, Farrar allowed one run on five hits, while striking out four to earn the win for Thomas (10-9, 5-1 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference play). In Game 2, McLamb allowed one run on four hits and struck out five.

Thomas scored four runs in the fourth inning with RBIs by Josh Gray, Tim Locke and Thomas Cameron.

Husson falls to 7-9, 4-2 in the conference.

Lyndon state 5-2, UM-Farmington 2-6: Brett Wallingford and Lawrence High School graduate Matt Woodbury both drove in a pair of runs as the Beavers won the second game to salvage a doubleheader split, in Farmington.

Lyndon State (2-11, 1-7 in the NEAC East) won the first game 5-2.

In the second game, Wallingford scored on a sacrifice fly by Woodbury, then hit a two-run single in the sixth to give UMF (2-8, 1-1 in the conference) the lead. Woodbury also had an RBI single in the first.

Softball

Maine 9, Husson 0: Ashley Kelley was perfect for three innings and the Black Bears cruised to a win over the Eagles in five innings in Bangor.

Maranacook Community School graduate Heidi Shaw had the first hit of the game for Husson (10-7), slapping a single to right in the fourth.

Kelley allowed three hits, while striking out nine for Maine (7-22).

Men’s lacrosse

Colby 15, UNE 7: Ian Deveau scored five times as the Mules beat the Nor’easters in a non-conference game in Waterville.

Jonathan McIvor added two goals and an assist, while Garth Franklin had two goals for Colby (3-3). Bjorn Knutson won 14 of 19 faceoffs and grabbed a team-high eight ground balls.

UNE falls to 6-6.

Also Tuesday: Senior David Ricker of Winthrop had three singles as the University of Southern Maine baseball team beat Endicott 9-3 in Beverly, Mass.
