WINTHROP — Blue Seal Feeds and Paris Farmers Union in Winthrop will hold a free seminar, Basics of Raising Backyard Chickens, at 6 p.m. April 24 at the Paris Farmers Union Store, 83 Royal St.

Jason Harris, a nutrition specialist with Blue Seal Feeds, will cover topics including proper nutrition, housing and caring for young birds. There will be a short video that shows how an egg develops inside the hen.
