FARMINGDALE — Matt Plourde hit a three-run triple to highlight a five-run sixth inning that carried the Hall-Dale High School baseball team past Wiscasset 11-6 in the Mountain Valley Conference season opener for both teams Friday.
Kurt Thiele, who added an RBI single in the inning, and Plourde each finished with two hits.
Bobby Crumler earned the victory with three scoreless innings in relief. The freshman struck out three and didn’t allow a hit.
Jason Weatherbee had two singles and a triple to pace the Wolverines (0-1).
Maranacook 6, Belfast 4: Eben Ballard drove in a pair of runs with a home run and a single to lead the Black Bears to the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B win in Belfast. Zach Elwell picked up the pitching win, striking out four and walking two while Ryan Vanek recorded a save. Damien Benner homered for Belfast 90-2). Maranacook is 1-1.
Leavitt 8, Gardiner 5: Matt Bilodeau went 4 for 4 as the Hornets won the KVAC B game in Turner.
Tyler Hutchinson added a pair of hits for Leavitt (2-0).
Ian Lane doubled, while Dennis Meehan had three singles and Jake Palmer two singles for Gardiner (1-1).
Lewiston 9, Messalonskee 2: Chris Bowen had a double and drove in two runs to lead the Blue Devils in Lewiston. Luke Cote earned the victory, striking out eight in five innings.
Sam Dexter had two triples and a single to lead the Eagles (1-1).
Brewer 9, Cony 8: John Hand had a three-run double to lead host Brewer to the KVAC A victory. Matt Morrow earned the victory in relief of Drew Hutchins for Brewer, which scored four in the bottom of the sixth to pull out the victory,
Chandler Shostak had a two-run home run in the first inning and finished with four RBIs to lead Cony (0-2).
Hebron 20, Kents Hill 4: Mike Kelly hit three home runs and drove in five runs and Mike Fitzsimmons also homered to lead the Lumberjacks. Eliot List struck out two and pitched a complete game to earn the victory.
Luka O’Brien went 2 for 2 and Matt Constantakis added a single to lead the Huskies.
