FARMINGDALE — Taylor Lockhart pitched a five-inning no-hitter as the Hall-Dale High School baseball team beat Boothbay 12-0 in a Mountain Valley Conference game shortened to five-innings by the mercy rule Wednesday.
Lockhart struck out seven and walked one to earn his first win of the season for Hall-Dale (3-1).
Kurt Thiele had two singles and two RBIs for the Bulldogs, while Ezra Jones had two singles and scored three times. Zac McNaughton added two singles.
Boothbay falls to 0-4.
Softball
Monmouth 1, Winthrop 0: Reen Kahl threw a no-hitter, and the Mustangs pushed across a run in the sixth inning to earn the MVC win in Winthrop.
Kahl struck out 13 and hit one batter to face one batter over the minimum.
Caroline Bonenfant singled and scored the Monmouth (4-0) run when Winthrop (2-2) made a throwing error on Sabrina Beck’s sixth inning bunt.
Amy Belanger allowed just three hits for the Ramblers, striking out seven and walking two.
Hall-Dale 14, Boothbay 1, 5 innings: Laura Allen tossed a one-hitter as the Bulldogs won the MVC game in Farmingdale.
Allen struck out four and walked one for Hall-Dale (2-2). Carylanne Wolfington went 3 for 3 at the plate.
Boothbay, which made 12 errors, dropped to 0-5.
Girls lacrosse
Kents Hill 18, Hyde 10: Ashley Doyle scored seven goals and Caroline Tortorella added six to lead the host Huskies to the MAISAD win. Danielle Bourgeois chipped in with two goals for Kents Hill (3-8) while Michaela Faia and Abigail Bowie each had one. Samantha Stasulis made six saves.
