PITTSFIELD — Students at Maine Central Institute, 295 Main St., are holding a Kindness Shoe Drive to collect donations of gently used and new shows to benefit Tumaini Children’s Home, a small orphanage in Kenya.

All shoes will be accepted but there is a greater need for sneakers. Pairs should be tied or taped together. Donations will be accepted until May 12.

Samuel Gachagua, a senior student and native of Kenya, is organizing the drive. For more information, call Gachagua at 619-3413 or e-mail sam@thinkkindness.org.
