C.J. Faris, left, of Richmond, launches his rowing skiff Monday as Maine Department of Marine Resources employee James Beaudry pushes a boat with his colleague, Dr. Gail Whipplehauser, into the Kennebec River at the Gardiner boat launch.  While Faris was taking a row up the river, the scientists were collecting data on the migration of Sturgeon and Striped Bass.
