SMITHFIELD — Katherine Paradis recently graduated from Earlham College with a bachelor’s degree in Japanese studies.

She received college and departmental honors and was appointed to the Phi Beta Kappa society. She is employed in the Morioka Assistant Language Teacher program and plans to teach English in Morioka, Japan for two years. She is a 2008 Skowhegan Area High School graduate.

Paradis is the daughter of Fawn and John Paradis of Smithfield.
