WAYNE — The 2012 Town of Wayne Farmers’ Market has opened for the season. Market hours are 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays. Many of last year’s vendors are returning with vegetables, herbs, meat, perennials, baked goods, wool, goat’s milk soap, blueberries, flowers, and eggs, according to a news release.

The Wayne Farmers’ Market annual 4th of July Celebration will be Saturday. The CAMP’R Band with Chris Cushman and friends will perform and children’s activities will be offered for free. Children’s activities also will include face painting, and gardening in a pot with herbs and flowers.

This summer, in addition to providing access to locally grown food, members plan to bring locally-grown music to the market. There will be an open-mike time most weeks, where musicians of all kinds and ages from Wayne and nearby towns are invited to come and perform. A small battery-operated amplifier and microphone will be available. Musicians wanting to play should contact Stan at standavis@yahoo. com
