ST. ALBANS — The annual St. Albans Summerfest will run through Sunday.

The celebration will feature a concert by Wilf Clark and the Misty Mountaineers at 7 tonight at the Town Hall.

The Skowhegan Community Band will play at noon today and the Sebasticook Community Band will perform at 4:30 p.m., both at the upper dam.

There will be suppers at the St. Albans Grange tonight, a breakfast this morning at St. Albans Union Church, hosted by the Youth Group. A horseshoe tournament at Indian Stream Hardware and a parade at 8:30 this morning at the elementary school.

The Second Annual Summerfest Fishing Derby will be 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. today, proceeds will benefit the Recreation Committee. The derby is open to all fish caught at Big Indian Pond and Little Indian Pond. The rules are posted in the free Summefest booklet available in all area stores and the Town Office.

The Hartland-St. Albans Lion’s Club chicken barbecue will begin at 11 this morning, and the money and toy pile scramble for kids and a four-wheeler safety demonstration by Somerset Ridge Runners will also be held at Indian Stream Hardware.

Participants can challenge their skills in the rubber chicken throwing contest, sack races or men’s hammer throw or ladies’ skillet throw competitions. Fireworks will begin at dusk tonight over Big Indian Lake.
