WATERVILLE — Norm Charleston of Oakdale shot a second-round 77 to win the Maine State Golf Association’s B championship Tuesday at Waterville Country Cub. Freeport’s Darren Jensen won the C championship by two strokes after shooting a second-round 83. The championships, now in their 18th year, are for mid- and upper-level handicaps.

Charleston shot a first-round 74 to finish at 151 overall, three strokes ahead of Harry Haylock who shot 85 Tuesday after opening with 69. Mike Dubois of Cedar Springs finished third at 156.

Jensen hung onto his first-round lead, combining a first-round 76 with 83 Tuesday to win by two shots over Springbrook’s Jim Horn who had the low round in the C division Tuesday with 78. Steve Richards of Salmon Falls shot 83-80 to finish third.
