WASHINGTON — A company is recalling 37,600 pounds of frozen bacon cheeseburger patties that were distributed through Walmart stores in Maine, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Wisconsin.
Wisconsin-based Kenosha Beef International is recalling the patties because they may contain foreign material – namely, pieces of gasket, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

Gaskets are mechanical seals often made of paper, rubber, silicone, metal, cork or felt.
The product being recalled is “Sam’s Choice Fireside Gourmet Black Angus Beef Patties Bacon and Aged Cheddar.” The product is sold in two-pound cartons that contain six patties.
The products were produced on June 11, 2012 and bear the establishment number “EST425B” and “best if used by” date code of 120812B on the carton end panel.
The products are made only for Walmart and only sold at Walmart stores.
The company alerted the Food Safety and Inspection Service after receiving a consumer complaint. There have been no reports of injury or illness.
