CUMBERLAND — Austen Truslow and Meghan Flanigan successfully defended their titles from last year at the Maine Junior Golf Championship at Val Halla on Thursday. Truslow, of the Tarratine Club, continued his torrid pace set Wednesday, following up his opening-round 68 with a 67 for a two-day total of 135. Flanigan, from Pittston, held off Alice Hwang to win the girls flight with a score of 83-90–173.

In the younger divisions, Matt Caron of Nonesuch River beat Robbie Watson by a few shots to win the Boys 13-14 with scores of 80-78–158. Erin Holmes, from the host club Val Halla, won the Girls 13-14 flight with scores of 108-103–211. Jonathan Rodenbush of Cape Neddick won the 12 and under title with 44-46–90 to win by three shots.
