VASSALBORO — Jesse Duda, of Albion, was sworn in to the Maine State Police Friday afternoon at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in Vassalboro. The one-hour event began at 1 p.m.

Duda was one of six new troopers who have spent the past nine weeks as part of the State Police 63rd Recruit Training Troop and will begin patrolling throughout Maine with a veteran trooper later in the month.

Duda will patrol Somerset County. He graduated from Lawrence High School in Fairfield and most recently worked for the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office as a patrol deputy.
