MEXICO — Police in Mexico say they have determined who’s responsible for a series of burglaries in town.

The burglaries between July 16 and July 30 resulted in the theft of guns, chain saws, gold, rare coins, Civil War memorabilia and heirloom jewelry police estimate was worth thousands of dollars. The burglaries also resulted in property damage.

Police tell the Sun Journal 21-year-old Anthony Mann was arrested on two counts of receiving stolen property. He was released on $1,200 unsecured bail on July 30 but arrested again a few days later on a probation hold for three counts of burglary.

Police say Darryl Streeper received a summons on a charge of violation of probation conditions.

Police say some of the stolen items have already been recovered, including the guns.
