CHELSEA — The Talon Harwood Memorial Ride, which will benefit LifeFlight of Maine, has been scheduled for Saturday.

The ride will commemorate Talon Harwood, who died at age 11 in 2006 from an acute asthma attack, according to a press release. Harwood’s parents, Julian and Betsy, of Manchester, have sponsored this event for two years and are donating all proceeds from the ride to LifeFlight of Maine, whose helicopter took Harwood to Maine Medical Center in Portland.

This event will be held at Jax Auto at 127 River Road at 9 a.m., where participants can register their motorcycles for $20 per bike. At about 10 a.m., the bikes will ride to Maranacook High School in Readfield, where there will be an hour-long break. The trip back to Jax Auto will begin at 1:30 p.m.

A barbecue, raffles and LifeFlight helicopter landing will be after the ride, until 4:30. More than 200 participants are expected to attend this year.

For information, contact Julian Harwood at 592-7223 or Betsy Harwood at 592-5264.
