Having served on the Augusta City Council, I know how difficult it is to provide all the services that Augusta citizens want and still keep the property tax rate down.

I was pleased to read in the Kennebec Journal on July 29 that taxpayers have been saved $8.5 million by the collaborated jail system that has been established by the legislation sponsored by my aunt, Patsy Crockett.

I’m so very proud of all the good work Patsy has done while serving in the Legislature, she has a track record of reforming government to save money.

Crockett has a proven record of getting the job done, the $8.5 million saving in just another example of her good work.
