WESTMINSTER, Vt. — Vermont State Police say a family argument over a laptop computer ended with an accidental gunshot and an arrest.

Trooper Eric Vitali said Emery Ross became involved in a spat with a family member in their Westminster house Thursday over possession of the computer. At one point, he said the 26-year-old Ross allegedly pointed a firearm at a family member.

The Eagle-Times reports the gun went off as someone was trying to disarm him. No one was hurt.

Ross was charged with attempted aggravated assault and other charges.
