BRUNSWICK

— The Great State of Maine Air Show is wrapping up with another full day of flying at the former Brunswick Naval Air Station.

Sunny weather and top flying acts have drawn thousands of people to Brunswick Executive Airport for the weekend event, which wraps up Sunday.

The Thunderbirds, the Air Force precision flying team, were making their first appearance in Maine since the 1990s. Other performances included top civilian stunt pilots, the world’s only all-women skydiving team and a tribute to the Tuskegee airmen featured in the movie “Red Tails.”

It was the second show organized by Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority since the Navy’s departure. A third air show is already on tap for next year.
