NORTH ANSON— Melissa Brassard had an asisst and a goal, including the game-winner, to lead the Monmouth girls soccer team to a Mountain Valley Conference win over Carrabec in North Anson.

Danielle Bumann opened the scoring for Monmouth with Brassard assisting before Carrabec Brooke Lewis tied the score with a penalty kick, Brassard scored her game-winner 22 minutes into the second half on a pass from Taylor Spadafora.

Adrianna Gonzales made 21 saves for Monmouth (3-0-0) while Macy Welch made 14 stops for Carrabec (1-2-0).

Mt. Abram 2, Winthrop 0: Emma Houston scored a gaol and added an assist to lead the Roadrunners to the MVC win in Salem. Houston unassisted with 10 minutes left in the first half before assisting on Mackenzie Tyler’s goal midway through the second half. Danielle Pease made 14 saves in goal for Winthrop (0-2-1) while Allie Lopez didn’t have a save for Mt. Abram (1-0-1).

Wiscasset 1, Madison 0: Kasey Cromwell scored with 13 minutes, 11 seconds left in the first half, and the Wolverines made it stand to earn the victory in Madison.

Kayla Gordon had five saves to earn the win for Wiscasset (3-0-0). Savanna Kandiko had four saves to lead Madison (1-2-0).

Boys soccer

Mt. View 4, Medomak 2: Lorenzo Milani scored a pair of unassisted goals to lead the Mustangs to the KVAC Class B win in Thorndike. John Piotti added a goal for Mt. View assisted by Jack Simpson then Piotti assisted on a goal from James Philbrick. Colton Spear and Jonathan Kendrickson-Belloguet scored for Medomak.

Ryan Ripley made 11 saves in goal for Medomak (0-2-0) while Mikey Hustus stopped nine shots for Mt. View (2-0-0).

Women’s college soccer

UNE 1, Husson 0: Nicole Faircloth’s pena;lty kick proved the difference in the non-conference game.

UNE junior goalkeeper Gina Iannazzi made seven saves for the shutout while Lawrence graduate Jess Poulin stopped six shots for Husson.

College field hockey

UNE 6, Husson 2:  Nokomis graduate Sabrina Vaillancourt scored both goals for Husson in a non-conference loss in Biddeford.

Gardiner grad Ashley Hickey had an assist for the University of New England and Kaitlyn Warren made three saves for UNE (1-1).

Maicee Gustin had 13  stops for Husson (2-1).
