We hear about politicians who don’t keep their word. I’m so pleased that Patsy Crockett kept her word.

Before her last stint in the Legislature, Crockett came to my door and told us she would work hard every day if elected. When elected to the House, Crockett, a Democrat, submitted a number of bills, and, with hard work, 18 bills she sponsored were signed into law. On her jail consolidation bill, she had 56 co-sponsors, many from the other political party.

Isn’t it great to see someone who works with both parties and is able to bring people together to get such an important piece of legislation passed? The jail legislation has saved property taxpayers $8 million since it passed (KJ, July 29).

I will vote for Crockett; she does what she says she will do.
