BRUNSWICK — The Skowhegan football team piled up its share of offensive statistics, but it wasn’t enough in a 36-14 loss to Brunswick in a Pine Tree Conference Class A win Friday night.

“They are a tough running team,” Skowhegan coach Matt Friedman said. “We did our best to keep them at bay, but they kept pounding the ball at us. At times we were able to hold them up.”

Quarterback Adam Clukey completed 13 of 20 passes and threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to Owen Mercier in the second quarter.

Tyler Savage rushed for a team-high 89 yards on 15 carries for the Indians (1-1).

Skowegan finished with 307 yards of offense. Brunswick improved to 2-0.
