PAXTON, Mass. — Quarterback Santino Simone finished with 319 yards of offense and three touchdowns to lead the Anna Maria football team past Maine Maritime 34-14 on Saturday afternoon.

Simone rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns and also threw for 184 yards and another score. Robert Small rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries for Anna Maria (1-1) as well.

Billy Wetherbee rushed for 110 yards on 23 carries while freshman quarterback Michael Fahey gained 41 yards on the ground to lead the Mariners (0-1). He also rushed for a touchdown.

Springfield 36, Husson 2: Joel Altavesta rushed for a game-high 116 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries to lead Springfield College in Bangor.

Springfield finished with 457 rushing yards and 81 passing. Mike Davis rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown while Andy Bean contributed 82 yards on the ground.

Kents Hill graduate Ryan Dorso rushed for 28 yards and caught two passes for 16 yards to lead the Eagles (0-2).

Husson was held to just 129 yards of offense.
