In a cynical attempt to game the election, a Republican-initiated Super PAC recently launched an ad to promote the Democratic candidate.
Maine Freedom is from Washington, D.C. Two officers of Maine Freedom have ties to the Republican Governor’s Association and several Republican organizations.
Maine Freedom is exploiting Maine people by pretending to support their opposition. Its ad is a manipulative tactic that I personally find distasteful.
We should stand shoulder to shoulder, Republican and Democrat, in favor of principled leadership.
Angus King is a true independent. Independence is exactly why Maine people like King. Fixing the broken political system in Washington, D.C., is too important to let out-of-state groups play games with our local elections.
I urge the people of Maine to not let partisan tactics keep them from voting for the best candidate for the U.S. Senate.
