AUGUSTA — A Waterville man who told police he was growing and processing marijuana for about six months in his residence near the Maine Children’s Home for Little Wanderers pleaded guilty this week to two drug charges.
Jared D. Bouchard 30, was sentenced to five years in jail, with all but five months suspended, and two years of probation. He pleading guilty to aggravated cultivation of marijuana — between five and 100 plants — and aggravated furnishing of scheduled drugs.
The offenses occurred Nov. 17, 2011, in Waterville.
Assistant District Attorney James Mitchell Jr. said the offense was “aggravated” because it occurred within 1,000 feet of a school or safe zone.
He was fined $800 and forfeited $444.
Other defendants were sentenced in separate hearings this week in Kennebec County Superior Court:
• Michael J. Brewer, 21, of Gardiner, terrorizing Nov. 4, 2011, in Gardiner; 10-day jail sentence, $500 fine.
• Christine L. Monroe, of Corneial Bay, Calif., criminal forfeiture of property ($715) Oct. 19, 2010, in Augusta; $1,000 fine.
• Jennifer M. Poirier, 27, of Vassalboro, forgery Oct. 25, 2011, in Augusta; 10-day jail sentence.
• Steven Alan Wilson, 32, of Belgrade, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer April 1 in Winslow; $500 fine.
