AUGUSTA — A new fall music series at Lithgow Public Library — “Live & Local at the Library” — will begin this Saturday with a performance by singer-songwriters Nancy Sferra and Heather Hardy from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the library’s Reading Room.

Sferra lives and works in mid-coast Maine. She has been writing songs for over a decade, accompanying herself on guitar.

Hardy writes and performs songs about nature, society, family and love. She is an organizer of the Round Top Coffee House open microphone event in Damariscotta.

“After the great turnouts for our summer lawn concert series, we’re happy to offer a fall music series featuring some amazingly talented singers and musicians from central Maine,” adult services aide Lori Clark said in a news release.

There is no cost and all are welcome. The library is located at 45 Winthrop St. The series will continue on Oct. 20 with guitar duo Anything Goes and singer-songwriter Tom Ward of Hallowell.
