I like Angus King — personally, and politically. I would have loved to work on his campaign, but no matter. I predict he’ll win and serve effectively and graciously in the U.S. Senate for many years to come. Angus has Moxie .

At the Democratic National Convention, President Bill Clinton delivered a rousing speech.

In spite of his transgressions and subsequent impeachment, he’s more involved in admirable and charitable activities than ever. Clinton’s got Moxie , too.

President Barack Obama, in spite of numerous accomplishments, was nonetheless secure enough to acknowledge his shortcomings: “While I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together, I’m far more mindful of my own failings, knowing exactly what (President) Lincoln meant when he said, ‘I have been driven to my knees many times by the overwhelming conviction that I had no place else to go.'”

Obama’s another flawed guy who’s got Moxie . And like King, my vote.
