MONTPELIER, Vt. — The gardening season may be coming to an end in Northern New England.

A freeze warning has been issued for northern Vermont and New Hampshire and the mountains of western Maine a frost warning for other parts of the three states Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

Temperatures are expected to dip into the 30s in some parts of Vermont, Maine and New Hampshire late Wednesday night and early Tuesday morning.

The National Weather Service says unprotected crops and sensitive plants will be damaged or killed by frost.
