I came to Maine this summer simply to make money.

If anyone had told me that I would quit my job and work unpaid for a political candidate for whom I can’t even vote, I would have said that person was crazy.

But I did just that, volunteering for Angus King — and had the most rewarding summer of my life.

I have had the opportunity to see firsthand the values and experience that make King the clear choice for Maine’s open Senate seat.

King represents a departure from the broken political system and a step toward real results, an all-too-rare occurrence in politics today.

Although I may not vote in Maine, I believe a senator with innovative ideas and the ability to compromise benefits the entire nation.

I hope Mainers will do what I can’t: Vote for Angus King on Nov. 6.
